Greetings readers, Happy New Year!
The Premier Basketball League is once again playing basketball! The season began on New Year’s Eve, with the Rochester RazorSharks shaving off the Scranton-Wilkes Barre Steamers 107-98. We also had a charity game between the Chicago Muscle and the Central Illinois Drive out of Bloomington. The Drive won 96-90 over Chicago.
The Dayton Air Strikers open up their season by hosting the Charleston Gunners at Trent Arena in Kettering. As you can tell, I’m pumped about this season because I’m broadcasting for the Strikers. It’ll be my first game as the Air Strikers broadcaster in Trent Arena. I’ll have a good view of the game from the track (that’s assuming that will be the same setup as last year.)
I’m also excited because there will also be more coverage this time around. There is the Premier BasketBlog, which focuses on all eleven teams of the PBL. The writer has put in some exceptional work to the blog so far, and we’re just one game in (two if you count the charity game, which the PBL standings don’t.) There is also a forum just for the PBL, which you can view here.
There is also two sports sites for the Dayton area in Dayton Pro Sports and Dayton Sports Beat. Both sites provide great coverage to the sporting world in the Dayton area. While the Sports Beat has been focusing on high school sports, I think he’ll also cover the players who have local ties. I like both sites and love the articles published, so hopefully you the readers will give them a look.
Hopefully I will see all three of the site managers at a game this season.
With that said, this looks like a new dawn of Air Strikers basketball. I’m looking forward to another season behind the microphone, broadcasting some good old basketball action in Dayton, Ohio!
Let the games begin!
